Q: Is there preservative present in Ningxia Red?
A: Yes, there is. It is called Sodium Benzoate.

What is Sodium Benzoate?
It is a natural occurring preservative present in fruits such as apples, prunes, cranberry etc.

Why does the Ningxia Red has Sodium Benzoate?
If it is not preserved, Ningxia Red will not taste like how it is now. It will taste like wine/ alcohol. 

What is the amount of Sodium Benzoate used in Ningxia Red?
0.00025%

How is this compared to fruit juices ?
Look for any fruit juice label that you can get in the supermarket.
Find sodium weightage, and then find out the percentage per serving size.
I've calculated one famous brand at 0.022%.

Sodium Benzoate transforms to Benzene which is a cancerous feature - carcinogen.
True. But it only transform if 4 conditions are present.
1) heat
2) low antioxidant environment
3) Vitamin C
4) Carbonic Acid
